Team Leader/Senior Support Worker – Children’s Home

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Sector: Children’s Homes

Salary: £19,000 - £20,000pa PLUS sleep ins at £35per shift

Job Type: Full-time. Permanent

Working Hours:

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader/Senior Support Worker to work in a young person’s residential home providing support for up to three children aged between 8 – 18 years who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

      The Role:


        To understand and meet the needs of and promote the development of the children by providing 1:1 care and supportTo work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young peopleTo assume co-key worker responsibilities for one of our young people which includes befriending and supervising them and acting as their advocate when necessaryTo promote and participate in activities encouraging choice and opportunity for our young peopleTo maintain and produce required records and reports as necessary to ensure smooth, efficient running of the homeTo undertake training and utilise learning within the homeTo provide support across the other homes when required

        Experience and Qualifications required


          At least 1 year’s relevant professional experience working with young peopleAn NVQ Level 3/Diploma in Health & Social Care with Children and Young People (or equivalent) or be close to completing itDemonstrate a flexible approach to working hours/shifts and a mature level of commitment to enable the efficient running of the homeUndertake sleep in duties and provide an on call out of hours emergency serviceFull clean manual driving license held for at least 1 year

          The Remuneration and Rewards:


            Stable basic shift pattern issued 1 month in advanceBasic annual salary of between £19k and £20k, depending on experience and for a full time and permanent roleWeekly working hours - 37hrs plus a minimum number of sleep insSleep ins paid at an extra £35 per sleep in (could potentially amount to a further £4,200pa)Company pension schemeAccess to Perkbox benefitsOvertime and extra sleep in shifts available
