Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Come and join us at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Not only is it a great place to work; it's also a wonderful place to live. The town has great transport links, a bustling quay and some of the best beaches in England. You’ll also have easy access to the Dorset countryside, renowned for its areas of outstanding natural beauty and the spectacular Jurassic Coast, ideal for sports and outdoor activities.
Poole Hospital is one of the largest employers in the region and highly regarded across the NHS, consistently featuring within the top twenty per cent in both national patient and staff satisfaction surveys. We pride ourselves on positive team work, professional development and support staff to reach their fullest potential. All of this is underpinned by our unique philosophy, The Poole Approach, which pledges that we will strive at all times to provide friendly, professional, person-centred care with dignity and respect for all.
This is an exciting time for our staff, following a recent review of healthcare services in Dorset which will see major changes to the way healthcare is provided. As one of the two acute NHS providers in the east of the county, our services will be closely linked to those provided at the Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We’re working in close collaboration to deliver excellent emergency and planned care over the two sites, for the people of east Dorset.
An opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic Advanced Nurse Practitioner team on the Acute Medical Unit at Poole Hospital. The post holder will work alongside the Acute Physicians to assist in managing the Acute medical take and facilitating early diagnosis and discharge. Additionally the post holder will help run the Ambulatory Emergency Clinic seeing patients referred directly from primary care or the Emergency Department.
The successful post holder should be able to demonstrate significant acute medical nursing experience and evidence of working as an independent practitioner with undifferentiated diagnoses.
Whilst the post is advertised at Band 7, qualified ANPs who lack recent experience working autonomously at the correct level may be considered for a trainee post at Band 6 until deemed competent at appraisal.
