We are currently recruiting a Therapy Assistant to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:00.

We have a brand new service which opened towards the end of 2017, Brunel in Henbury Bristol. At present we have 14 patients and this will grow to be a 32-bedded neuropsychiatry and neurobehavioural service. The hospital provides a neuropsychiatric service to individuals with brain injuries, organic brain disorders and degenerative conditions who require specialist therapy-led rehabilitation and support.

We are offering staff an opportunity to contribute to the development of a new service, in line with Cygnet values.

In this role you will:

Work closely as part of the Therapy and Nursing teams by ensuring continuity of the interventions provided by the qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. You will support the Clinical team in delivering treatment plans and working towards therapeutic goals.

Contribute to the delivery of therapeutic interventions appropriate to the needs, choices and interests of individuals in our care, under the supervision and guidance of an Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist.

Undertake assessment and intervention programmes with clients as delegated by Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist underpinned by appropriate experience/knowledge.

Support and encourage individuals with their therapeutic intervention goals and report back on their progress, including contribution to their care plans.

We are looking for people who have:
• Experience within a health care environment
• Experience of working with Individuals that have complex behavioural or communication needs
• Ideally, some experience within an Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy department
• Ideally, a sports science related degree and/or relevant experience working with physical or neuropsychiatry along with knowledge of physiotherapy
• A keen interest in supporting clients to work towards therapeutic goals
• The ability to work on own initiative
• A willingness to adapt and learn new skills

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
