Purpose of Role: State Street Corporation's Professional Development Programme (PDP) is a leadership and rotational programme designed to identify and develop future leaders within State Street. The programme has multiple tracks sponsored by key business lines and functional teams around the globe. Each track is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the participating business line or functional team along with a deeper understanding of State Street's global business. The programme extends over 18 months to two years (depending on the business area) and incorporates specific training professional development and rotational assignments across a variety of departments. Rotations are designed to provide hands-on experience in different roles and business activities to help programme participants develop a comprehensive understanding of each business area and the overall industry. Successful programme participants will be eligible for permanent roles within State Street where the collective knowledge skills and experience gained through the programme can be applied. Start date: July 2019 Programme Highlights: An intensive three-week firm-wide orientation and training, which includes a week-long financial markets boot camp business overview presentations and case studies delivered by many of State Street's executive leadership. Multiple cross-functional and cross-business rotational job assignments designed to accelerate the development of critical industry knowledge skills and experience. Access to training courses on financial markets and essential business skills. A structured one-on-one mentoring programme with current or former PDP participants. Sample Programme Tracks: State Street Global Markets (GM) State Street Global Exchange (GX) Level of Education / Specific Qualifications: Undergraduate, graduate or experienced graduate (MBA & PhD) graduating in the Summer of 2019 Minimum 2.1 (U.K.) or equivalent Completion of at least one professional internship ideally within financial services (desirable) Skills and Experience: Strong interest in global financial markets Demonstrated problem solving abilities Required Competencies: Versatility adaptability and the ability to pick up new skills quickly and an appetite for continuous lifelong learning Ability to work independently while also adopting a collaborative approach to achieving results Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with experience in delivering professional presentations
