A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client's finance team as a Project Accountant - They are the UK’s leading contractor specialising in the development, construction and maintenance of cold stores, firewalls, data centres, clean rooms, single-envelope, external industrial cladding and doors.

The purpose of the Project Accountant’s role is to monitor the financial performance of all Company Projects, Manufacturing and Labour Operations including Revenue Control, Cost Forecasting, Working Capital and Credit Risk Management. To guide Operational Managers where necessary and to support the efficient day to day running of the Group Finance and Administration function.

Main responsibilities:

* Produce detailed financial information, particularly around project and divisional performance, including analysis of forecast costs and revenues for all Group entities.

* Providing information up to Gross Profit result.

* Analysis of overall divisional performance particularly against budgets and targets.Project accounting.

* Oversee timely raising and collecting of application payments and retentions.

* Dealing with queries both internal and external specific to project and manufacturing/site/service issues.

* Assisting with the development of processes and systems to enable the Company to improve efficiency and productivity at all levels.

* Supporting operational managers with monthly reports and project reviews.

* Supporting purchase ledger and sales ledger roles.

* Liaising with contract and sales/estimating departments.

* Liaising with sales managers to ensure adequate project credit terms and payment plans are in place. To highlight and deal with projects which may present legal/commercial implications at an early stage (e.g. work outside the UK) and ensure sales/estimating are aware of the potential risks and costs.

* Reporting to and liaising with credit insurers to obtain adequate credit cover.

* Credit management.

* Overseeing and supporting the Sales Ledger Finance Assistant role.

* Providing support to the Group Finance and Administration Manager with various tasks as set out in the monthly timetable.

* Liaise with external stakeholders and others at all levels throughout the business to ensure decisions are made with a full awareness of financial implications.

Person specification: Essential

* CIMA Finalist

* Numeracy skills for handling large amounts of financial data accurately and to set deadlines.

* Ability to produce regular and ad hoc management financial reports, including analysing financial data and forecast information.

* Experience in communicating financial information in writing and in meetings, and in dealing with external stakeholders such as Quantity Surveyors, Credit Insurers and Client payment departments.

* Experience in providing specialist financial support to Company departments and managers.

* GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.

* Competence in IT including MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.

* Presents a professional and relationship-building manner in all dealings with customers.

* Shows drive through motivation, resilience, taking personal responsibility; goes the extra mile.

* Presents personal appearance which makes a good impact inside and outside of the Company - the standard of dress, workspace, vehicle etc.
