In this brand new role you will be solely responsible for the strategic direction of Cadent’s asset data. You will manage a team and build strong relationships with our senior leaders. This role will challenge you to make changes and question current processes.
What you will do
Be accountable for setting the strategic direction for Asset Data, defining and owning the standards that drive performance (completeness, accuracy and timeliness) across the business. Providing a ‘Tier 2’ assurance role across all asset data processes that ensures Cadent maintains a Legislative and Regulatory compliant status. This role will fulfil a single ‘go-to’ capability all matters relating to asset data both within Cadent and for all external key Stakeholders. You will be:
* Accountable for shaping and defining the strategic direction for Asset Data, developing plans and deliverables that enable asset data to be leveraged for commercial advantage
* Accountable within Cadent for the completeness and accuracy of all data and attributes associated with the tangible assets (offtake to emergency control vale) through which gas is transported
* Ensuring that all parties involved in the end to end asset lifecycle are aware of and adhere to their stated roles and responsibilities with regards to complete and accurate asset data, through periodic verification and measurement of compliance
* Ensuring that performance standards for asset data are defined and adhered to by all involved in the end to end asset lifecycle, mapping out required performance levels and implementing a complete suite of completeness, accuracy and timeliness KPI’s
* Ensuring a proportionate and appropriate level of visibility is maintained across the end to end asset life cycle through the development and implementation of performance dashboards in order to assess how complete, accurate and timely critical asset data records are updated
* Developing implementing and undertaking a structured program of risk based asset data qualitative and quantitative assessments across all asset groups and associated critical data attributes
* Identifying and evaluating data silos, offline spreadsheets and databases with stakeholders in order to establish their value and the potential for integration into core systems or secure future stability
* Defining the competence requirements across the end to end asset data life cycle exists for the creation, updating, deletion and archiving of critical asset data across all asset groups
* Ensuring appropriate Business Continuity measures have been developed and established to maintain robust asset data records
* Working with key Stakeholders in Information Services (IS) and the GD2 team to determine and
* Shaping the technology solutions that will remove waste from the end to end asset lifecycle and improve quality and completeness of asset date
* Managing the relationship with key external stakeholders (HSE and Ofgem), industry experts (ISO, BS, Etc) and software/application vendors regarding asset data performance and improvement opportunities
What you’ll bring
* Knowledge and experience of managing a complex and connected data hierarchy, including the associated systems, processes and procedures
* Knowledge and experience of producing KPI’s performance reports managing risk, developing mitigation strategies and prioritising the delivery of change
* Knowledge and experience of setting and managing performance standards across a cross functional end to end process
* Experience in a controls or assurance focused role and can demonstrate a track record of risk identification and mitigation
* Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and key business drivers
* Understanding of the end to end business processes
* Strong understanding of process safety
* Previous senior experience in leading and managing multi-disciplined teams
* Track record of delivering performance and financial savings in line with the Strategic Business Plan
* Experience in presenting to senior stakeholders
* Experience of working collaboratively with senior stakeholders to drive performance and change initiatives
* Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders both internally and externally
* Experience of managing multiple demands/projects and delivering to deadlines
* Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
