We have a number of preceptorship nurses in the department, therefore we have great mentorship opportunities available

We are looking for nurses with a sound surgical or cardiac background, who strive for excellence. You will get fantastic support by being given the toolkit required to develop your own skills and career.

Spire Southampton provides a wide range of services including day care and in-patient and outpatient services. The main activity is elective (planned) surgery, and more complex procedures such as cardiac and spinal surgery are supported by the onsite critical care facilities.

The hospital works in partnership with local NHS acute hospital trusts, for example in recent provision of robotic surgery, and there is a large refurbished outpatient department along with extensive diagnostic imaging services

Duties and responsibilities

  • To ensure that standards of patient care are consistently maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies and procedures as a skilled member of the nursing team, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • To promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors.
  • To assist Senior Staff in their management of clinical departments and to provide effective leadership and management in their absence.
