Skills and experience, we are looking for:

Strong programming expertize in Java with at least 3+ years development experience (with knowledge of the latest Java concurrency, streaming, non-blocking and functional language programming primitives and libraries)
Strong knowledge of Open Source BPMN workflow engines e.g. jBPM/Activiti or Camunda is preferred
The ability to collaborate with Business Analysts and Business users to analyse business requirements and define technical project scope and assumptions for BPM implementation
Familiar with Test-Driven and Behaviour Driven development (TDD/BDD)
Hands on experience with software integration - Web Services (SOAP/RESTful)
Team player, eager to engage and wanting to work for a leading SME
Energy, self-motivation and independence to manage multiple tasks
Analytical mind-set, creativity and commercial focus to deliver optimal solutions for the business
Experience building and sustaining long-term relationships with clients and colleagues
Judgment to prioritize and escalate issues in order to influence objectives and outcomes
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with BPMN (Business Process Modelling and Notation) and DMN (Decision Model and Notation), in particular using these to model real business problems
Experience working on large-scale technology platform solutions involving real-time guaranteed delivery, multi-site infrastructure including cloud, low-failure, fault-tolerant systems
Experience of working in an agile/scrum development environment and be familiar with standard testing and release cycles.
Experience with SDLC tools (Jenkins, Drone, Git, Automated Testing Frameworks)
Knowledge of RDBMS, particularly MySQL; NoSQL database platforms (MongoDB) and distributed analytics and search software (Elasticsearch)
Knowledge of Event sourcing patterns and messaging services (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ)
Exposure to JavaScript, HTML 5 and Web Frameworks (e.g. Angular, NodeJS or React)
Exposure to Reactive systems programming
Exposure to cloud services and offerings (AWS, Azure, Googlecloud)
You might also have:

Experience with the UK public sector
A valid UK Government Security Clearance
Familiarity with working with cloud infrastructure
Please note you must hold Security Clearance (SC) with a UK Government Department, or be eligible for SC clearance (this means you MUST be resident in the UK for the past 5+ years, with no criminal record)
