UCL Hospitals NHS Trust has a vacancy for an enthusiastic individual to join a dynamic team within the Trust’s Paediatric Dental Department based at the Eastman Dental Hospital.
Successful applicants will join an established team in providing a wide range of paediatric dentistry services. Applicants will be expected to have excellent communication skills and experience in paediatric dentistry. We would particularly welcome applicants with experience or an interest in Paediatric Endodontics.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide dental treatment under local anaesthesia and sedation for children. This will include a whole range treatments including restorative treatment to dento-alveolar surgery for children. The post holder will also be expected to treat medically compromised patients and work with the Clinical Lead towards expanding this service. The post holder will be expected to supervise post graduate students and junior members of staff (if they are a specialist in paediatric dentistry). They will also have the opportunity to be involved in the treatment of children under supervision of a consultant and be expected to help with administration related to the general anaesthesia lists in the department as advised by the consultants. They will be expected to participate in audit and other governance activities in the department.
Full current GDC registration and an excellent working knowledge of infection control and health and safety issues are also required.
Good inter-personal and communication skills and be able to build effective working relationships at all levels.
