Cygnet Hospital Harrow are looking for a Qualified Psychologist to join the Psychology Team on a part time basis (22.5 hours across 3 days per week). We welcome applications from HCPC Registered Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologists.

Cygnet Hospital Harrow provides a specialist service for adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Mental Illness. It offers a pathway of 3 wards providing integrated mental health rehabilitation with varying degrees of security and freedom to reintegrate into the community.

We believe that service users who are the leaders in their recovery have the best outcomes, and place a strong emphasis on being recovery-focused. We have a recovery college on site supported by a full time lead where the patients can work towards qualifications. There is a real focus on co-production and our patients are integral co-producers and co-deliverers of the courses.

This role will be working across the Springs Services catering for the needs of Individuals with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD), mental health problems and/or challenging behaviours. The Spring Services consist of: The new 15 bed Springs Centre,11 rehabilitation beds and 4 crisis beds within a locked ward environment, a 10 Bed Springs Wing, Open Rehabilitation and 16 bed Springs Unit, Low Secure Services.

The Opportunity

As an experienced psychologist you`ll be confident in assessing service users who have a wide range of complex mental health needs. You will provide psychological assessment, formulation and treatment to patients in accordance with care plans.

To be responsible for delivering group / individual psychological interventions and consulting to the multidisciplinary team.

Having spent some time in the field, you`ll understand psychological models and their application within a mental health setting, and possess a clear knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice.

You will have a key role in training, supervision and service development, providing support to Assistant Psychologists and Doctoral Trainees. We also facilitate reflective practice across the hospital.

Are you the successful candidate we are looking for?

• A HCPC Registered Clinical / Counselling or Forensic Psychologist
• Experience of working within mental health services, secure and/or forensic settings is preferred
• Knowledge of psychological assessment and formulation in healthcare, as well as planning and delivering psychological interventions to a similar client group is desirable
• Ideally, experience of psychological therapies, risk assessment, training and supervision
• The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Up to date knowledge around various different psychological models applicable to this clinical population
