We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative Band 5 staff nurses to join our friendly and hardworking team on a newly formed Frailty Unit. You must be willing to promote high quality care with a good knowledge and a willingness to embrace and promote positive change.

Dickens Ward (Older People’s Short Stay Unit) is a 34 bedded frailty unit recently opened in the Emergency and Ambulatory care division. It is a short stay, 72 hour assessment and admission unit. We take direct admissions from the Emergency Department, as well as transfers from acute medical wards. In addition we benefit from an established multidisciplinary team including geriatricians, primary care co-ordinators, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, discharge co-ordinator providing a wealth of specialist knowledge and input to provide the best outcome for our patients.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and dynamic team. The ward is an excellent environment for staff development and there will be a lot of opportunities to develop extended practice and skills whilst delivering care of the highest quality. This hard working team’s main goal is to constantly strive to provide the best care for our patients. Applicants must have the ability to prioritise workload, delivering effective safe care whilst ensuring safety and quality is maintained. We have one big team and countless possibilities. That’s why we’re looking for band 5 nurses who are inspired by change, ambitious and determined to succeed as we are.
