Clinical Research Facility

170 Tottenham Court Road & Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre

The NIHR UCLH Clinical Research Facility is a well-established Clinical Research Facility (CRF) covering two sites. The Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre is a dedicated neuroscience experimental medicine facility at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) at Queen Square (QS); and the Clinical Research Facility at 170 Tottenham Court Road is a comprehensive Cancer and Medical research facility on the Bloomsbury campus (BC).

We are looking to recruit a highly experienced, skilled and enthusiastic Senior Laboratory Manager to oversee the management of the CRF laboratory across both CRF sites running first-in-human through to complex and innovative phase 3 trials, and experimental non-IMP studies. The post holder will be expected to operate independently in organising and planning work activities with the objective of maintaining and improving efficiency throughout the CRF.

Using effective self-management of workload the post holder will be expected to maintain full and proper records in compliance with relevant legislation while providing a high quality laboratory service within the CRF, and be specifically responsible for oversight of processing, storing and shipping samples collected as part of clinical trials implemented at the UCLH NIHR CRF. In addition, the post holder will act as the central liaison between the CRF Laboratory and partners including the UCL Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre GCLP Facility and the Neuroimmunology and CSF Laboratory at the Institute of Neurology. The post holder will also be expected to lead on reviewing new laboratory manuals to assess feasibility and laboratory related protocol compliance resulting in high quality clinical data in line with the study protocol, the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the UK Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations.
