We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist or Neuropsychologist to join our team at our brand new site St Williams. We are looking for someone who can work 5 days per week between Monday to Friday.
Cygnet St William`s is a new 12 bed service providing neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative rehabilitation for men with mental health difficulties and acquired brain injury. The service is due to open in December 2018 and is now accepting referrals. The hospital is located in Darlington, close to the A1(M) motorway and other major transport links. There is easy access to shops, local libraries, community centres and parks.
Typically, our service users will have an acquired brain injury as a result of an accident or a stroke. Other service users will be admitted due to early onset progressive nervous system dysfunction, which may derive from hereditary and sporadic conditions such as Huntington`s Disease. This role will also cover our new nearby step down facility, Meadow Mews in Tipton.
In this role you will:

- Provide psychological assessment, formulation and treatment to patients with a wide range of acquired brain damage and neurological diseases
- Work within the MDT as well as individually with service users in both in the hospital setting and at our nearby community step-down facility, Meadow Mews
- Within the MDT setting you will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area, and advise non-psychology staff on psychological principles and psychological understanding of behaviours displayed by brain injured service users
- Ensure systems are in place for the clinical supervision and support for Assistant Psychologists working into the neuropsychology service across both sites, and reflective practice for all staff as appropriate

Are you the successful candidate we are looking for?

- A HCPC Registered Psychologist along with experience or a passion to develop your career in Neuropsychology and with an ABI client group
- Knowledge of neuropsychological assessment and formulation in health care, as well as planning and delivering psychological interventions to service users with neurological conditions is preferred
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Up to date knowledge around various different psychological models applicable to this clinical population
- Experience with service users in inpatient rehabilitation settings is desirable

- Salary up £40,000 - £50,000
