We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join our dedicated team of professionals as a part time band 6 Transfusion Practitioner.

The role of the transfusion practitioner team is to provide safe and effective working practices to all staff involved in blood transfusion within St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and for all patients receiving blood components and blood products.

The role involves working trust-wide with staff from all disciplines, ensuring that patients requiring transfusion of blood components and blood products receive the highest standard of safe and effective care.

The successful candidate will be a well-organised and motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

Applications are invited from state registered nurses with a minimum of two years post registration experience. Knowledge and experience of the transfusion processes is essential.

The post will be based within the department of Haematology, St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust which is sited in the Medical School building in Jenner Wing.
