All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery. All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.
By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly. Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making. Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are looking for Band 5 Paediatric Nurses to complement our existing caring and highly-motivated nursing team to work in our dynamic children’s ward.
We are looking for nurses who are committed to the delivery of compassionate high quality care and who can communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and relatives as well as other colleagues. Deliver high quality holistic care with an emphasis on working in partnership with children and their families. Excellent organisation skills and an ability to prioritise a busy workload are also essential.

Both part time and job share applications will be considered.
Neptune Paediatric Unit has 21 beds and caters for children aged 0-16 requiring medical, surgical and day-stay admission. There is also a designated Paediatric Assessment Unit consisting of a 6 bedded area, an isolation cubicle and treatment room. Neptune Unit uses the Partnership Model to deliver holistic nursing care.
Neptune Paediatric Unit is fully supported by a large team of multi-disciplinary professionals including Doctors, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, qualified play staff/specialists, a Paediatric Clinical Facilitator and a Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist.
