Healthcare Assistants / Senior Healthcare Assistants – In-Patient Unit
Princess Alice Hospice has, for more than 30 years, provided free, high quality, specialist end of life care to tens of thousands of people across a large part of Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. Today, at any one time, Hospice nurses, doctors and other specialist staff are looking after more than 800 people in need. The Hospice now has a new mission: to reach out to even more people by delivering outstanding care to those that need it. To enable us to do this we will rely on the commitment and support of our communities who help us raise vital funds.
About the role
Working alongside other members of the hospice multi-professional team, our healthcare assistants take pride in delivering care of an extremely high standard with a ‘can do’ attitude. As a new member of our nursing team you will be fully supported, whilst gaining essential knowledge and skills in specialist palliative care in a challenging but uplifting environment. You will also have the opportunity to gain an extensive range of generic clinical nursing skills.
This is what we offer:
- Excellent staff facilities • Excellent staff support
- High staff/patient ratios • Structured induction and strong mentorship
- Excellent training and development opportunities
We are looking for motivated Healthcare Assistants who have excellent care values, a strong sense of team spirit and a passion for delivering high quality, compassionate patient and family focused care.
Health care assistants should possess a good standard of general education and ideally have some experience of delivering nursing care, preferably on a ward, in the Community or care home. Individuals without experience of healthcare work may be considered.
Senior healthcare assistants should possess relevant NVQ/QCF qualifications and have experience of nursing palliative care patients
