Following continuing improvements in the Stroke Service at Broomfield Hospital, additional investment has been secured, which provides us with the opportunity to further enhance our nursing workforce on the Stroke Unit.

Person Specification: The stroke service is dynamic, achieving the top classification of ‘A’ status for performance as rated by the Royal college of Physicians, SSNAP data collection 2016
The stroke unit is a 25 bedded unit providing acute stroke care. This includes care for patients post thrombolysis and patients that return to us following thrombectomy treatment at a neighboring trust.
We offer a 24/7 acute stroke service that covers the Emergency department with a team of highly skilled specialist nurses.
The trust is committed to supporting and developing its’ staff so opportunities for training and other development activities will be provided. All nurses working within the stroke service have the opportunity to complete comprehensive stroke specific competencies that provides an in depth knowledge of evidence based stroke care. The stroke unit actively participates in Stroke research.

MEHT contracts are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period.
All Registered Nurse/Midwife/Theatre Practitioner or ODP you will be required to take a Drug Calculation Test. (please note 100% pass mark required)
All HCA/HCSW/MCA will be required to take a Literacy and Numeracy test (80% pass required) as part of the pre employment process.
