Senior Planning Officer - Sussex
Based in the South, this shared service seeks the help of a Senior Planning Officer for 6-9 months...About the roleIn response to a gap in the structure, this quaint are looking for an experienced hand to play an integral role in their Development Management team.You will be required to take on a ranged caseload of planning applications and development control issues (involving Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings Consent, Green Belt matters etc.). This will involve preparing planning and site briefs for minor, medium and major development sites as well as negotiating complex S106 legal agreements and mentoring junior members of staff.The temporary contract will be for an initial 6-9 months, however, further extension may be likely dependent on performance - previous contracts have been known to run beyond 12 months.The Successful CandidateYou will ideally have Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), be qualified to degree level in Town Planning or a relevant discipline and have proficiency in dealing with complex major development proposals.You will have a desire to upkeep excellent knowledge of the planning process, legislation and policies (including S106 and Environmental Impact Assessments) and have demonstrated an ability to effectively prioritise work-loads and manage projects within timescales.It is essential that you hold a valid UK driving licence in order to conduct site visits and business-related mileage shall be expensed at £0.45 per mile.
