High Voltage Electrician
Our renowned manufacturing client requires a High Voltage Electrician (Site based) to add to their growing team. The role involves Troubleshooting, repair, Install and service of high voltage electrical systems and associated equipment. The role is based in North Ayrshire, commutable distance from Glasgow & surrounding areas. Dayshift, Monday to Friday. The Role : Troubleshoot and repair distribution systems, including transformers, circuit interrupters, reclosers, capacitors, voltage regulators and switches. Carry out routine maintenance activities on HV distribution equipment. Undertake maintenance and reactive activity to a wide range of LV Electrical equipment Diagnose and repair faults on a wide range of HR & LV equipment including variable speed drives and intelligent starters Operate a variety of testing, calibration and repair devices, tools and equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, insulation resistance testers, high potential test sets, circuit breaker testers, etc T he Candidate: Knowledge of- Electrical theory and terminology. Working on High Voltage network and LV cable jointing. Reading and interpreting plans, diagrams, drawings, instructions, and related technical materials. Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance, repair, and testing of high voltage systems, and associated equipment. Skilled in- Performing repairs, fabrication, operations and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems and associated equipment. Using testing equipment, and troubleshooting complex electrical problems and developing effective resolutions. Operating and maintaining tools and equipment of the trade. Minimum Qualifications- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship as a High Voltage Electrician. Scottish Power training in high voltage system operations; or equivalent. Compex Certification: Competency requirements of IEC 60079 -14 and 17 C&G 2382-12 Ideally with C&G 2391. HND or NVQ in a relevant subject.
