Technical Accounting Manager
Wilkinson & Associates are currently working with a high profile challenger bank in Edinburgh. They presently have a very unique opportunity for a talented, proactive accountant to join their team and assist with the ongoing development of technical accounting policy, statutory reporting processes and facilitating legislative changes. This type of opportunity reflects the ever evolving banking industry and presents the job holder with a high profile role in a high performing team. Your role in the team will cross a variety of activities, particularly as the role grows and the bank evolves, together with regulatory reporting activities whilst acting as an escalation point for operational issues. *Responsible for the production or review of monthly financial statements, annual reports, FINREP returns and returns to the Group parent and the UK regulators. *Assist in the provision of advice and guidance on technical accounting and regulatory reporting matters. *Maintenance of accounting policies and keeping abreast of external developments in corporate reporting. *Deliver internal technical accounting training programme. *Assist the Senior Manager in the preparation of information for various financial and regulatory disclosures to reflect the commercial performance of the bank. *Assist in ensuring our external reporting remains compliant with legal and regulatory obligations. To be considered for the role you must be a qualified accountant with a background in financial services external audit and / or statutory reporting processes within the banking sector. Knowledge of IFRS and an eagerness to build knowledge of legislative accounting policy is key to success in the role. It is expected that you will have good planning and organisational skills and you must have proven ability to deliver within a deadline driven environment. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable providing challenge to assumptions where appropriate. You must be able to manage internal and external relationship and interpret complex financial data.
