Development Worker - Early Years
Job Description You will support and advise on Early Years provision in ways which are consistent with Aberdeenshire Council policies and procedures to sustain and promote the level of quality Early Learning and Child Care. You have a minimum NNEB, SNNB, HNC in Child Care and Education or an SVQ level 3 in Early Education and Childcare. As well as having the ability to demonstrate a sound awareness of the play and learning of the Pre-school child you also have substantial experience in a pre-school setting. A teaching qualification would be desirable as would experience working in the voluntary or private sector. This post enables the Council to fulfil its obligation in providing quality in the 0-3 age groups and settings run by the private and voluntary sectors. Working in the Early Years Development Workers Team, you will provide support on quality development and implementing the national quality framework as well as administration activities to support entry to all Early Years provision. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 5th December 2018 This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
