Job Title Digital Team Assistant Responsible To Ecommerce Product Owner Primary Function Be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of the Jacobs & Turner Ltd websites. Description Trespass are a prize winning outdoor clothing company with its headquarters based near the city centre of Glasgow. To allow the business to continue their growth online, we are looking for an Digital Team Assistant to join our Ecommerce team on a fixed-term 6-month contract to take responsibility of our websites. The right person will come with demonstrable experience in generating sales from ecommerce websites, and a detailed knowledge of the ecommerce industry. In return, we will give you the platform to drive traffic & sales through a fast-growing brand within the Jacobs & Turner group, whilst also being challenged to build the brand online. Main Duties & Responsibilities Assist with the in the planning and development of the website online strategy. Work with the wider web team to ensure that processes related to the operation of the websites are established & optimised over time. This includes the optimisation of the post-sales experience. Work with the web team to ensure that the entire product catalogue is available on the website, whilst also ensuring that we are maximising commercial potential through effective Visual Merchandising. Develop, and actively engage with, a marketing email audience. Assist with the implementation of a future-proof SEO strategy, including practical tasks such as on-page optimisation and link building. Establish and develop brand partnerships, with the aim of driving traffic to our websites. Be first-line support for any highlighted problems on our websites, ensuring that we give a timely and helpful response. Work with our Developers to ensure that ad-hoc issues are proactively identified and resolved. Make suggestions on new features that could be introduced to improve the customer experience. Routinely carry out structured website functionality testing to ensure that our offering is consistently meeting the needs of our customers. Routinely research competitors, other best-in-breed website offerings and ecommerce blog articles, to ensure that we remain ahead of the curve in ecommerce. Use web analytics to identify methods of improving conversion and reducing abandonment rates. Generate weekly and monthly reports to Ecommerce Management Team, outlining Key Performance Metrics. Gain a detailed understanding of the various components of the Ecommerce operation. Take ownership for creating appropriate schedules and reports to ensure transparency and relevant communications to all stakeholders. Any other tasks as requested by the Ecommerce Management Team. Prioritise daily and weekly workload accordingly and work to desired timescales. Take pride in achieving excellent standards in all your duties and responsibilities. Demonstrate a positive and motivated attitude while being professional at all times. The Department Be aware of department standards and adhere to at all times. Understand the wider Ecommerce Department, including different teams and the business structure. Acquire a wider knowledge of the rest of the business, including Head Office and stores. Take responsibility for your own development and aim to understand all tasks and processes. Work towards and achieve any goals / objectives set for you.
