Main Purpose of the Role
A specialist developer and manufacturer of niche products has an established goal to considerably escalate their operations to meet rising demands and new objectives.

This role requires experience of precision engineering, machine shop functions and assembly of complex equipment.

With an exciting and unique product portfolio that is leaps ahead of the standard technologies in the industry, the company is experiencing rapid expansion. As a result of this, they have an opening for an experienced Operations Manager to facilitate significant and strategic operational growth.

The Person
You should be flexible and dynamic in your approach, and bring energy and drive to your work. Key requirements are;
• Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree.
• Planning resources for a busy precision machining environment
• Able to demonstrate a track record of delivering to tight timescales in a cost effective and timely manner without sacrificing high standards

Key Responsibilities
This is a varied position involving key technical knowledge of products.
• Leadership and management of the Operations function to ensure all product is manufactured to the organisation's Quality standards
• Lead Yield Improvement efforts to reduce waste and increase output
• Develop processes to forecast and manage capacity as our company grows
• Lead productivity improvement efforts in Operations
• Establish training and onboarding processes to ensure cross-training within operations as well as efficient placement of new people
• Ensure consistent flow of materials from receiving through production and shipping
• Using formal Problem Solving methods, work together with the Quality and Development teams on process improvements to improve and prevent product quality issues
• Provide effective leadership to implement Lean Manufacturing strategy and manage continuous improvement projects

Salary and Benefits
In return you will receive a generous starting salary of £50-55k + pension
