Salary:£20,000.00 – £30,000.00 pa/ DOE
Duration:Full-Time, Permanent
Hours:9am-5pm Monday to Friday

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant is focussed on delivering accurate and timely financial information for the company. The role includes:

Monthly reporting

Maintain nominal ledger and production of monthly control file and group reporting packs.
Manage the purchase ledger function: maintaining controls surrounding expenses, invoicing, supplier maintenance and weekly payment runs.
Actual versus budget cost analysis and investigation of differences.
Post bank statements.
Produce bank and intercompany reconciliations and investigate any differences.
Completion of Office for National Statistics returns.

Quarterly reporting

Maintain head office company ledgers and assist in the production of interim and year-end statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors.
IXBRL tagging of statutory accounts.


Assist in the production of bi-annual budget rolling forecast, monthly analysis and investigation of variances to actual.
Calculate the budget recharges and distribute to divisions.

The successful candidate will have:

Relevant accounting knowledge. An accounting qualification would be beneficial. (AAT or Similar)
Experience in ledger management and analysing variances to budget.
The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills are advantageous.
