My client, based in the Kirkcaldy area, is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join them on a Fixed Term Contract until March 2019 to support the small Finance team.

Working hours are 9am till 5pm, Monday to Wednesday.

Responsibilities will include:

* Process the organisations financial transactions accurately on a monthly basis using a Sage Line 50 Accounts package
* Process financial transactions to the correct cost centre using the % splits prepared by the Finance and Business Manager
* Maintain and file all documents supporting the businesses financial transactions in an orderly manner.
* Post nominal ledger journals
* Reconcile all bank accounts including petty cash
* Capitalise assets purchased with a value in excess of £200
* Maintain general ledgers checking that all accounts balance
* Query any transactions which do not meet company policy to obtain explanation
* Query invoicing issues with suppliers
* Payment of expenses
* Place monthly procurement orders
* Fortnightly reconciliation of the petty cash

To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following background and skills:

* Solid experience of working in a finance/accounts environment and keen to develop your skills and experience in that area
* Experience of Sage would be desirable but not essential
* You may have completed your HNC/HND in accounts
* Confident IT skills, able to pick up new systems and processes quickly
* Able to take instruction and follow a process accurately
