Our client has an immediate vacancy for an enthusiastic Geotechnical Engineer to join the established team based in their Tonbridge office.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will form an important part of the Tonbridge office team and will play a key role supporting the Team Leader and Contaminated Land Service Manager in delivering and managing the workload of the team both locally and nationally.

Your main duties would include;

* Prepare fee proposals and help the company to win work and maintaining good relationships with clients.
* Prepare desk studies, ground investigation scopes and specifications.
* Identify the key geotechnical risks that could affect our projects and propose appropriate management measures.
* Undertake concept & detailed design.
* Prepare technical reports (e.g. Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design reports).
* Manage the commercial side of the project to ensure achieving good balance between technical excellence and project profitability.
* Able to communicate design via clear and well-presented drawings.
* Work with fellow colleagues to meet deadline and support less experienced engineers.
* Have the ability to learn and expand his/her knowledge.

Phase 3 remediation strategies and validation work, including on-site supervision of remediation and carrying out verification reporting of remediation;

Skills Required:

* Reliable, committed team player and takes responsibility;
* Flexible, proactive and self-motivated with the ability to be self-directed when needed;
* Analytical and a problem-solver;
* Accuracy, attention to detail and follow-through;
* Minimum of 2 years industry experience working as a geotechnical/geo-environmental
* Engineer
* Good working knowledge of HoleBASE SI, CLEA , EA P20, Geotechnical Design Software
* The applicant should be able to show experience of managing site works, appropriate sampling techniques and logging soils/rock to current guidance
* Minimum degree (BSc (Hons)) qualified in Geology, Civil Engineering, Soil Mechanics,

Environmental Science or Similar

* Preferably an MSc/M.Geol/MSci in Geology, Engineering Geology, Soil Mechanics, Civil Engineering or similar
