Fantastic new opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a reputable Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy on an initial 6 month contract basis in London. Our client works across a range of project, covering sectors including Rail, Highways, Water and Buildings. Due to recent successes, they are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join their expanding Rail team.

The successful candidate will carry out the design of civil engineering schemes, key responsibilities will include:

* Coordination of the design of a range of Rail projects
* Creating and checking structural designs
* Designing Civil engineering schemes and reviewing, checking and approving designs prepared by others
* Producing calculations and designs for concrete slabs, foundations, rail buildings and signal structures
* Attending site visits and organising surveys
* Liaising with other disciplines to ensure successful delivery of projects
* Liaising with clients to verify project scope and keep them updated on progress

Essential skills, experience and attributes:

* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or relevant
* Proven experience in a similar role
* Extensive experience working on rail projects
* Experience with the design and management of a range of civil engineering works
* Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and current regulations
* Good numerical and analytical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of relevant industry software
* High attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
