Teaching Personnel are working with a client school in North Dorset, seeking Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school is an SEN School catering for pupils from Early Years/EYFS through to College. The school caters for a range of SEN needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs. Some pupils have additional sensory or physical impairments, speech and language disorders or medical needs, others are on the autistic spectrum.

The school have a range of facilities, including a state-of-the-art sensory room and wildlife area. The school is not easily reachable by public transport so access to a car is advisable.

Your role will involve working within the class to support the class teacher with their lessons. You will be working alongside a team of support staff in class and may also be required to work on a 1-1 basis. We have positions available in each age range (primary, secondary and college) so you will be matched to a class based on your experience and/or suitability.

This is a full time role, starting immediately. This is a temporary position but there is the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

To be successful in this role you should:

* have experience working within a school setting
* have experience working with children and/or adults with learning difficulties
* be resilient and confident working with challenging behaviour
* have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, or a willingness to learn
* be nurturing and enthusiastic

Teaching Personnel offer an extensive CPD Academy with a range of online and in person training courses, including Team Teach and Autism Awareness.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
