Our global motorcycle manufacturing client is urgently looking to fill the following role:

Role context and purpose:
As the Lead Engineer NVH at our Client's Technology Centre, you will be a part of the CAE team and report to the Lead for CAE & CAD.

Key responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities as Lead Engineer NVH in the UK will include, but not limited to:

- Need to take acoustic and vibration measurements, analyse results and present reports
- Create targets for noise and vibration through discussions with designers & benchmarking
- Discussion with internal customers for the required input / output and freezing the requirements.
- Need to assess the output of the test data and justify the behaviours using manual calculation
- Work closely with CAE to validate & update acoustic simulation models
- Work with peers in order to get the best team performance.
- Foresee implications of introduced actions well in advance. Proactively initiate corrective actions.

As Lead Engineer NVH, you will be measured on the following areas:
- Develop test methods for modal surveys, noise/vibration transfer paths and comfort metrics
- Support correlation activities with simulation
- Identify noise sources during vehicle development
- Utilise software tools for the analysis of noise/vibration and it's prediction
- Develop understanding of the noise signature of the Client's cycles and how to maintain and enhance it
- Propose palliative and other treatments to improve the noise experience for the customer
- Work with other members of the Product Development teams to ensure noise considerations are taken into account during concept and development phases of the vehicle programs
- Conduct pass-by and other tests to ensure that the Client's motorcycles meet statutory and regulatory requirements regarding noise emissions

Scope and Impact:
- You will manage a small team of Internationally based NVH simulation engineers
- You will liaise with test and instrumentation teams in the UK and abroad to ensure timely and suitable tests are conducted
- You will liaise with chassis, powertrain, intake and exhaust teams to ensure that the noise/vibration targets are met for future programs

Experience Required:
- You have proven experience working in Powertrain NVH function for 3+ years in the UK
- Strong knowledge in fundamentals of Acoustics / Dynamics principles
- Knowledge of basic acoustic software will be preferable, in particular LMS Test.Lab
- Should be able to carry out acoustic calculations for the given conditions
- Basic programming skill in PYTHON will be preferable
