Lead Developer

We are looking for a talented Senior to take a step up or Lead .NET Web Developer to help our customer deal with an expanding workload as they continue to acquire clients. They've recently launched the sites for a few major UK brands, and there is no letting up: late this year they will also launch a brand new site for one of the largest charities in the UK

Initially making small changes and helping fix bugs, all the while working through their extensive training package, you will quickly get to grips with the businesses way of doing things, from product inception to deployment. You will work on components across sites, maybe incorporating single sign-on, working on a shopping cart or integrating a third-party API.

As you get more comfortable with the project, you will be called upon to liaise with clients - gather requirements, demonstrate changes, knowledge share and collaborate with them. We always work directly with clients to ensure they not only get the work they want but also understand the processes that we take to write great code.

We also expect you as part of the role to continually learn. You will be coding in C# .NET/MVC, and using CMS systems like Umbraco and Sitecore every day, but your learning path can be much broader. We encourage you to take an interest in every aspect of the development pipeline and share your knowledge as much as possible. This sets these guys apart from other agencies, and we are proud of the learning environment we have instigated here.

You will be working to an Agile, test-first methodology, using SCRUM and Kanban, from day one.

So what do we want from you?

You will be a passionate backend-focused .NET Web Developer, with experience building and maintain websites and apps in C# using an MVC framework.

You will preferably have worked in an Agile, team environment, with experience in writing code in a TDD fashion and performing and receiving code reviews. Although extensive, expert-level knowledge of TDD is not required, we would at least want to see an interest in testing your code the right way and knowledge of an iterative work process.

They also work with and around our clients, often literally as they come into the office to work with us on several of their projects. You should be comfortable liaising and exchanging ideas with these people and have had experience in this type of environment. It would be very beneficial to the role if you have had a customer-facing role in the past.

They build great sites, and that takes time, but having some experience having worked to client-set deadlines would be an advantage. You will always champion the quality of the code as the ultimate benchmark of success, but deadlines are a reality that we all have to deal with at times.

If you would like to find out more and understand what you would get out of this role, please apply and we can set up a call for a time to suit you.
