This role sits with Dimensions Training Solutions (DTS). DTS is a vibrant, innovative private training provider. What will the role involve?
The Business Development Manager is responsible for the identification and proactive winning of high value new business with major third sector organisations, Government and the ESFA to support achievement of the business goals and KPIs.
What do you need to demonstrate?
You should have a proven track record of identifying new opportunities along with evidence of prospecting for and closing new business deals. You will have the ability to deliver targets and KPI’s. You must be confident when engaging at all levels and have experience in pro-active and consultative sales techniques. Ideally you will be degree qualified. You will have the ability to engage with and influence wide and varied groups of stakeholders, including key decision makers in external agencies along with a high degree of commercial acumen and awareness of e-learning, welfare to work and the wider training landscape.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Develop a strong sales pipeline of bid & revenue opportunities through effective stakeholder engagement.
* Implement the external stakeholder plan; maximizing the contributions of internal stakeholders to ensure that effective strategies are in place to target priority development areas.

* Support the development of the stakeholder engagement strategy which ensures learndirect is well positioned with key stakeholders as a preferred supplier for business development opportunities.
* Develop and maintain purposeful contacts with regional and local strategic partners to further bidding opportunities and joint working possibilities, including
* LEPs Funding Bodies, Delivery Partners, Local Authorities, other stakeholders as identified by the stakeholder plan.
* Support informing the business of changes in the external environment, for example: Government Policy and Budgets; Competitors and other market changes.
* Complete research to inform and build strategic reporting on a regular basis and match this research to opportunities from their strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning.
* Develop and maintain partnership and sub-contracting opportunities positioning learndirect to win profitable revenue.
* Maintain learndirect’s position on existing frameworks and positioning for the inclusion on new frameworks including but not limited to:
* ERSS Framework
* Register of Training Organisations SDS DPS
* Contribute key information on opportunities through kick-off to DRB and quality assure bids and proposals to assist and inform the compilation of high quality bids by liaising with all departments within the business.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will be a natural communicator, with excellent relationship building skills and the ability to quickly establish rapport and trust. Proactive and ambitious, will have meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritise with a high level of autonomy.
They will be able to demonstrate:
* A proven track record of new business development within the UK voluntary or commercial sector
* Experience of researching and progressing prospects through proactive engagement.
* Experience of developing and delivering creative written proposals, presentations and verbal pitches
* Experience of a range of corporate fundraising activity including employee fundraising, CRM, sponsorship, events and strategic partnerships
* Experience of budgeting, financial management and reporting
