Associate Transport Planner

We are currently supporting a leading engineering consultancy based in London who are currently seeking an Associate Transport Planner with previous experience in the industry to join their growing team.

As an Associate Transport Planner you will have the opportunity to be engaged in all aspects of traffic and transport planning, including Transport Assessments for new developments, master planning and urban regeneration projects, and Travel Plans. We are looking for individuals who can help to run some of our clients increasing portfolio`s of projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- To manage projects across a wide range of transport planning areas including policy and strategy, scheme appraisal and business cases, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement
- Lead projects
- Be responsible for teams delivering high quality technical work and for developing staff skills through project delivery.
- To manage and support bidding for new opportunities
- Lead, manage and develop the transport team staff
- Input to transport planning, strategy, business case, and research projects, and multi-disciplinary projects for a variety of project types, sizes and client types
- Prepare technical reports, strategy`s and transport solutions
- Implement Traffic and Transport methodologies with the assistant of the Principal Transport Planner
- Liaise with clients/contractors and local / national authorities
- Resolve problems or issues to support the delivery of projects or design objectives
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation in working practices

Qualifications, Experience

- Degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or a related subject (essential).
- Chartered with a relevant professional institution
- A minimum of 8-10 years of Transport Planning experience (the level of experience will determine what level you come in as).
- Demonstrable track record in winning and delivering projects
- Project Management experience (ability to see projects run from cradle to grave and stakeholder management)
- A proven ability to build client relationships
- Preparing bids
- Experience in highway / junction design at least at the concept design level
- Experience of working with public and private sector clients
- Experience in delivering large strategic modelling projects
- Develop and manage a team of skilled individuals
- Efficient communication skills, excellent level of written and spoken English
