Job Purpose

* Active member of the workshop team in annual preventative maintenance, upkeep of equipment and vehicles
* Deliver technical services to standards set and maintained by client and to customer requirements
* Fault diagnose broadcast equipment
* First line support and problem-solving to our field crews
* Train future appointees
* Provide engineer cover for holiday/ad-hoc and to large events in the field
* Assist in the planning of kit allocation

Skills & Experience

* A good grounding in broadcast engineering to a hands-on practical level; DIY skills
* Willingness to learn new skills across the broadcasting genres
* Working knowledge of electronic and electrical engineering (single and 3-phase); and telecommunications
* Working knowledge of DC and vehicle principles an advantage
* Physically fit to manually move equipment to all appropriate locations
* Willing to travel and stay away from time to time
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Good problem solving skills to rectify faults and/or establish a ‘work round’
* Practical hands-on approach to any element of technology
* Good organisational skills and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively
* Willing to learn and enthusiasm to join in and work as part of the team
* Knowledge of and ability to work to current Health and Safety requirements
* General interest in technology and computers
* Practical, common sense approach
* Knowledge of horseracing helpful

Qualifications

* Current driving licence, HGV would be an advantage
* Any engineering or technical qualification would be considered
* GCSE/’O’ level standard of education
