Investment Counsellor Associate
A leading Global Financial Institution is seeking to employ an Investment Counsellor Associate based in London.
Hours 35 per week/permanent.

The Investment Counsellor Associate is responsible for assisting Investment Counsellors delivering investment solutions to international clients and prospects of this leading Global Financial Institution. They will collaborate with Investment Counsellors and Relationship Managers to attract and enhance client relationships and profitability. They will be accountable, in conjuction with Investment Counsellors, for assessing client needs, developing a comprehensive investment strategy, coordinating sales and execution against that strategy and monitoring performance and appropriateness of the client’s overall investment portfolio. The jobholder will partner with Marketing , ISPS , Compliance and Risk and with RM teams and improve clients’ portfolios and alignment with risk profile. They will monitor and follow- up on clients investments and is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations.
The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position within the bank’s “Three Lines of Defence” policy, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required. The jobholder has responsibility for overseeing and ensuring that Operational risks are managed in accordance with the Group Standards Manual, Risk FIM, & relevant guidelines & standards.
The jobholder should comply with the detailed expectations and responsibilities for their core role in operational risk management through ensuring all actions take account of operational risks, and through using the Operational Risk Management Framework appropriately to manage those risks. The job holder must continuously reassessing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology. The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures. The jobholder will implement measures to contain compliance risk across the business area. They should ensure that all actions take into account the likelihood of operational risk occurring, addressing areas of concern in conjunction with Risk and relevant line colleagues, and also by ensuring that actions resulting from points raised by internal or external audits, and external regulators, are correctly implemented in a timely fashion.
The successful candidate will be a graduate and will have the following:
- Strong interest in finance gained through academic studies or experience in financial institutions.
- Strong analytical skills and a knowledge of quantitative analysis processes.
- Advanced Microsoft excel skills including working with Macros
- Desirable qualifications include Masters in Finance, CISI Diploma in Investment Advice, PCIAM and CFA.
- Fluent in 2 languages other than English. Russian speaking desirable.
