Location: London, UK

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Wage: £49,800 per annum

Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • producing and implementing a Mobile Internet of Things marketing plan (low power, wide area networking in licensed spectrum);
  • supporting strategic project development;
  • contributing to the marketing effort of the Internet of Things programme through communications, messaging, market research, positioning and digital marketing;
  • working closely with the wider programme team, Internet of Things industry, GSMAi, GSM Ltd and the overall marketing community;
  • planning and delivering major event marketing communications activity for MWC, MWCS & MWCA;
  • delivering marketing activities associated with the project including external messaging;
  • planning and managing overall event participation for specified events;
  • delivering specified event marketing communications and promotional activity;
  • planning and delivering specific event activities such as networking opportunities, training, seminars and summits;
  • building and developing the Mobile IoT Summit series and vertical events programme aimed initially at mobile ecosystem, industrial and smart cities markets;
  • managing the external global collaborative group including operators and sponsors;
  • planning and delivering internal communications to communicate benefits of Internet of Things programme to connect GSMA including regions;
  • creating a supportable events plan, local programme champion group and associated local language communication tool kits (where appropriate); and
  • interfacing with Chinese experts.

Criteria for selection

The candidate must possess the following attributes:

  • have a marketing and engineering degree or equivalent;
  • have relevant experience of technological marketing;
  • have an understanding of early adopting geographical markets;
  • have experience of industry partnerships, events, database focused marketing activity and email marketing campaigns;
  • have a background in marketing advanced IT to converse with professional experts and understand the potential for the technology;
  • have the ability to market leading edge technology;
  • have the ability to interface with Chinese experts;
  • have relevant IT and Technology understanding and skills;
  • be results focused;
  • be able to work comfortably with supporting internal, external team members and industry partners;
  • prefer to deliver marketing projects rather than managing a direct team of reports;
  • be able to thrive on working within in a small, motivated team with a team first ethos;
  • be able to contribute fully in all reporting activity required by the programme in a timely fashion, as required, including the weekly reporting schedule and the budget reporting schedule;
  • be able to advise and support new members of the team by communicating and demonstrating best practice; and
  • be able to maintain and manage PO requirements in a timely fashion and reporting into the budgeting process.

The candidate will also preferably possess the following attributes:

  • have an understanding and knowledge of the Chinese market and Chinese language skills.
