Your new company
An Executive Agency who are responsible for the day to day management for the UK Government's debt. Based in the City of London, it is focused is on achieving value for money in its provision of services to the public sector and it aims to follow best practice in financial and risk management. They are currently seeking an experienced Lawyer and Global Master Repurchase Agreement (GRMA) negotiator to join the legal team on a temporary basis for up to 4.5 months.

Your new role
As an experienced Lawyer you will be responsible for managing a caseload of (repo) repurchase agreements (GMRA) and other financial markers documentation including negotiating master agreements with counterparties. You will undertake legal analysis of of counterparties and their legal structures, reviewing underlying jurisdictional opinions when necessary. You will be expected to carry out legal contract activities, reviewing financial markets documentation including: terms of business, NDAs and other legal agreements. Finally you will assist with other legal team activities when required.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you should have strong legal technical and analytical skills. (Although a legal qualification is not required, it is desirable). You should have at least 2-3 years' experience in negotiating GMRA and/or ISDA Master Agreements and related documents. Experience with debt capital markets and other legal documentation and an understanding of the key aspects of financial regulation relevant to repo and derivatives markets is desirable. Finally, you should have strong inter-personal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels and have strong negotiation and resolution skills. This role will require SC level clearance.
