We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Regional Manager to join the Royal College of Physicians’ (RCP’s) regional team, to support members within the in the Mersey and North West regions. The role is based in Liverpool within the RCP’s northern headquarters, and will involve working alongside RCP North staff as well as those based across the UK.

The regional team is a part of the membership support and global engagement (MSGE) department at the RCP, and are the central point of support for RCP members. Working closely with local physicians, the regional team run educational events, promote RCP policy, the benefits of joining the RCP and assist in the development of new activity that supports the ongoing education of RCP members.

Main responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and deliver a wide range of regional educational conferences and training events held at various key locations across Mersey and North West as agreed with the regional advisers.
  • Communicate with members within the region.
  • Assist in the development of local membership support and engagement.
  • Actively seek opportunities to promote RCP member support to local members.
  • Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders, networks, healthcare professionals and training providers.
  • Co-ordinate the approval process of job descriptions.

Experience required

  • Experience in a role which has included a significant degree of responsibility
  • Experience of organising conferences, workshops, seminars or public events
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS office packages, CRM and preferably experience using mass email software and online survey tools.
  • Experience of working in a professional/membership and/or health/NHS organisation is desirable
