Salary: £12,763 - £14,059 (£21,272–£23,433 pro rata), depending on experience

We are seeking an Assistant Editor with professional experience within a STM (scientific, technical and medical) journal publishing environment, including peer review to join the RCOG Journals team which is responsible for the publication of two leading journals; BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (BJOG) and The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (TOG).

About the role:
As Assistant Editor you will report to the BJOG Deputy Managing Editor, with responsibility for supporting the BJOG team to provide a high-quality service to authors and readers by ensuring the effective processing of manuscripts; assisting editors, authors, and reviewers; and supporting the Journals team in delivering journal development projects and initiatives.
As the ideal candidate you will:
- Have excellent IT skills, including good knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, and excellent verbal and written communication.
- Have a flexible but meticulous and methodical approach to work, and a willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks.
- Have the ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
- Be adept at cooperative working.
