An excitng vacancy for an IT Infrastructure Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Newport.

The role will require candidates with a good working knowledge of Microsoft and RHEL technologies with experience of working with VMware virtualisation platforms. The position requires experience within a similar role preferably working in secure environment such as MOD/GOV/NATO.

The IE will need to leverage their practical knowledge in implementing Microsoft and RHEL technologies within virtualised environments. The IE shall implement tasks against a work breakdown structure, for either individual standalone projects or elements of a bigger programme. The role is varied and demanding and will be a very good learning experience for people who are looking for career progression to a more senior role.

The successful candidate must be proactive, diligent with a strong technical ability, and they must have skills in both presentation and customer relations both at a technical and non-technical level. The role is primarily a hands-on implementation with some design work involved. On occasion you will be expected to support network engineering staff.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

??? Infrastructure and virtualisation implementation.

??? Execution of Work packages for the project or programme

??? Hands on deployment of their Knowledge of Microsoft /RHEL and Virtualisation Technologies

??? Fault finding and problem solving

??? Supporting other enabling technologies (e.g. System Centre, Exchange, SQL Srv)

Demonstrable Skills/Qualifications in a number of the following areas:

o Install, configure and troubleshoot RedHat Linux Server 5.7 ??? 7.5 (Networking, SSH, NTP, Syslog, Install third party apps, configure web services, etc. )

o Microsoft Windows Security (GAP, Security Compliance Manager, Desired State Configuration, Windows Firewall, File System, Group Policy, PKI, Auditing )

o Microsoft Windows Server MCSA 2012R2

o Experienced Windows Server Administrator

o Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013

o Microsoft System Centre 2012R2

o Microsoft SQL Server Administrator 2012 ???

o Windows Client OS 7/8/10

o Configure and operate Gemalto (formerly Safenet) HSMs from RHEL

o Experienced in building and configuring public key infrastructures (PKI) using Microsoft and RHEL to support scalable and deployable infrastructures

o VMware VDI

o VMware vSphere 6.0 ??? and Tools (PowerCLI, SSH)

o VMWare vCenter Server 6.0 ???

o VMWare vSAN

o Veritas Backup Exec 15

o Antivirus Software (McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator)

Must have existing UK SC security clearance, or be capable of attaining UK SC clearance

This role is based at Airbus Defence and Space offices, Newport, South Wales, with occasional requirements for business travel within the UK and abroad
