My client is a leading supplier to the automotive industry who have a vacancy for an ambitious and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance Department at their purpose build factory on the outskirts of Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Working on a 5 in 7 rotating shift pattern, the a successful candidate will need to display a desire to perform as part of a team in a creative and dynamic environment. You will be given responsibility requiring you to organise your workload and be proactive.

THE ROLE

Carry out fault finding, breakdown and repair, planned and preventative maintenance work on a variety of production machinery

General assembly & machining techniques; proficient with most/all machines within area of work.

Report machine faults.

Use relevant measuring equipment.

Read engineering drawings.

Ability to work/carry out repairs unsupervised; demonstrate can work unsupervised.

Learn new systems installed and comply with continuous improvements; take on new responsibilities.

Work to Company procedures and policies and Quality performance.

THE CANDIDATE

Time served Mechanical Engineer

Background within medium/high volume manufacturing/engineering environment

Proven experience in a similar role

Highly experienced in working under own initiative, demonstrating an ability to set & meet personal targets, combined

with the flexibility to adjust to workload priorities to take account of new deadlines.

Interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to customer service.

IT knowledge, including e-mail, Word, Excel, and SAP desirable.

A flexible approach to work, along with the ability to work as part of a team.

THE PACKAGE

Pay rate : £11.62 per hour (37.5 hrs/wk)

Shift allowance : 12% for mornings and afters / 20% for nights.

Overtime : 30% Mon-Fri, 45 % on Saturday, 70% Sunday

Holidays : 32 days plus bank and working hours are on average.
