We have a fantastic permanent vacancy for an IT Infrastructure Administrator to join the Infrastructure Services team based in Edinburgh. The main purpose of this role is to investigate and either resolve technical issues to Royal London users or delegate onwards to Technical Specialists. You will receive requests via first line support and will diagnose what maintenance procedures need to be taken in order to resolve these errors. You will be part of a wider Infrastructure team providing end user desktop and infrastructure support, focusing on BAU but with an opportunity to gain more exposure to continuous improvement and project work. This is the ideal opportunity for someone with some experience in End User Support gained in a 1st/2nd line support role or similar, who is looking to further their IT career and broaden their skill-set and knowledge. Responsibilities: Ensure systems are managed to the satisfaction of the business: Incidents and Service Requests closed within SLA. Review breached calls Alerts responded to in a timely manner. No unplanned outages attributable to System Administrators. System uptime and availability within SLA. Unnecessary alert are cleansed to ensure that they are relevant and accurate. Fully document systems including DR procedures, recovery procedures, build procedures, call out logs, decision logs, and maintenance procedures and fix knowledge base. Support the strategy through delivery Follow industry best practice where ever possible Support projects Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience (ideally 2 - 3 years) working in a 2nd Line End User Support role Up to date knowledge of various IT systems, primarily Windows based Proficient using and supporting MS operating systems & applications Knowledge of End user computing Ability to solve technical computing issues and seek out the root causes to problems Industry knowledge and an awareness of the direction of new technologies Excellent problem-solving, organisational and prioritising skills Willing to work out of hours IT related degree or relevant qualifications highly desirable The willingness to learn new software and hardware skills To apply, please use the 'Apply Online' link below.
