*About us*

PensionBee is an exciting, young company located next to Borough Market (which if you don’t know it, does the best lunch in London). We are an online pension manager, helping our customers manage their money through our very accessible and customer friendly website and app. We offer pension plans which are managed by the world’s biggest investment managers. Our customers combine their various pension pots from different periods of employment into one of our plans.

Our customers love us because we empower them to take control of their financial futures. We do this by thinking from their perspective, and building our product around what they need and respond to. This involves doing away with the jargon, high fees and hefty paperwork associated with old-fashioned providers. We replace these with a friendly, high-tech service that makes pensions easy and pleasant (some even say fun) to manage.

We’ve turned some heads over the short time we’ve been around, most recently being named one of the FinTech50 2018 and winning the Consumer Innovation Technology of the Year at the MoneyAge awards 2017. We’re also regularly featured in The Times and other major publications, despite being a small and close-knit team of 36.

Do you want to join our brilliant team of motivated and socially conscious people, who are excited about building a company that is shaking up the traditional pension industry? Then we need you!

*The role*

PensionBee is a fast-growing company of technically-minded individuals on a mission to make pensions simple. The tools that the team use extend from the devices at our fingertips to the systems and services we host in the cloud, with a "sprinkling of robots": on the side.

The technology philosophy at PensionBee is all about empowering people to get the most out of technology, and we encourage and train people to achieve a high degree of technical literacy. Your role in this is to help scale this philosophy as the team and company continues to grow, whether that is through tool building, smart automation, process improvements, or simply helping deploy the growing array of tech at our disposal.

Being a financial services company, we also make the security of our customer data a priority, and part of the role will be to help the team use technology in a safe and compliant way, and improve our ability to innovate whilst being mindful of regulatory and security needs.

You’ll be working as part of the technology team and with the CTO, on projects and programmes that are core to how the rest of the company gets their job done. All our team members have the potential to shape the company’s product and its culture.

*As examples of the types of day-to-day activities involved in the role, you can expect:*

* workflow analysis leading to process improvements and automations
* optimising and implementing the employee onboarding/offboarding process
* handling equipment setup and maintenance (including the robots)
* sysadmin for various online systems
* internal networking
* liaising with hardware and software vendors
* communicating with partners about our information security policies and procedures
* working on an information security improvement roadmap
* helping cultivate a culture that is mindful of data security and compliance

*Your experience*

We want to work with people who are as excited as we are by the opportunity to change the UK financial industry to benefit consumers. We realise that technology trends come and go, so we prefer applicants who have a good understanding of the fundamentals and a passion for technology.

*As a flavour of characteristics that would be valuable in this role, we will be looking for someone who:*

* Thinks creatively, analytically and proactively
* Cares about helping others to work more effectively
* Has experience with relevant technologies, such as cloud services (including Google Apps, Slack, Salesforce), device management tools (Intune, Jamf, Google MDM, for example), single sign-on, process orchestration and scripting
* Has superb communication skills and thrives when working in a team

Education is a life-long pursuit so we do not have specific educational requirements. You should be prepared to show in interview something you have built that you are proud of and something that you have learnt about recently.

The package on offer for the role is a base salary of £27,000-£32,000, dependent on experience, plus bonus and participation in the employee share option scheme.
