Our platform is the industry’s most advanced real-time capacity forecasting solution for Public Transport. Our focus is on creating truly Intelligent Mobility by applying Machine-Learning and Artificial Intelligence in the public transport sector by generating novel capacity data and connecting this to multiple data sources from operators and cities to deliver increased performance and an enhanced customer experience.

Candidates will need to demonstrate their passion for Cloud Computing, Big Data analytics, and their commitment to developing clear and well-considered ETL pipelines for data-driven solutions.

Who we are looking for
Our Backend Developer & Data Engineer will join a team of IoT hardware, machine learning and web developers, building intelligent mobility management solutions for the public transport market.

You will be working on implementing cloud infrastructure for IoT sensors and Big Data Analytics whilst supporting the growth of our exciting products. You will have responsibility for the technical direction, planning and development of our cloud architecture and data pipelines for data-driven dashboard solutions.

Essential Criteria
-Excellent coding skills in Python
-Proven experience to write reliable, resilient, performant and well-tested code
-Experience with relational (e.g. Postgres, etc) and non-relational databases (indexing, caching, etc); designing schemas
-Strong base in distributed systems, RESTful API design
-Solid experience with cloud computing & services, infrastructure and operations in AWS (EC2, Lambda, etc.) and/or GCP (AppEngine, ComputeEngine, etc.)
-Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
-Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Criteria
-Experience with Go, Java
-Some experience with front-end technologies (D3, Django, React, or just vanilla JS)
-Knowledge of machine learning and/or big data analytics
-Tinkering with Computing Hardware (e.g. Raspberry Pis, Jetson TX2s) and Linux environments
-Some experience of mobile apps (iOS and/or Android - or Web App)

-Working in fast-paced, cutting-edge, startup environment
