Arctoris Ltd is an Oxford-based startup revolutionising cancer drug discovery by combining robotics and machine learning. As the latest member of our team of ten, you’ll be joining the startup at an exciting stage. We have brought on board a world-class team of engineers, cancer researchers, and machine learning experts and are backed by leading investors.

What you’ll do

Being excited by the prospect of taking on real responsibility and having a genuine impact is essential. You’ll be contributing your knowledge, skills and experience to the project, shaping the team and how we work from day one. You have the chance to lay the track, build the train, and drive it.

You will work in a very hands-on way on the project, writing lots of code while working with our current junior developer in Edinburgh, with the opportunity to step back and take a more product/ managerial/ team lead approach as the project and team expand.

The immediate focus of this role will be the continued development of our Angular web app which customers use to interact with our service. You’ll be adding a range of exciting new features and refining the existing product, while contributing to broader strategy as well.

How we work

As a young team we operate a flat hierarchy which gives everyone visibility, you can gain a lot of insight into the overall functioning of the company and its various departments and projects, and can incorporate this knowledge into the digital strategy where applicable. We actively encourage this cross pollination of ideas.

Working as part of the Arctoris team is more like a group project than a standard 9 to 5. There are no fixed hours and the only requirement is that you work closely with our developers for as much time as you see fit, with the option to work remotely for at least part of the time as well.

There is enormous freedom in how you approach a problem and organise your workday, so a taste for independence is a must. You’ll have the opportunity to wear many hats and see your ideas manifest right from the off.
