The Advocacy Academy is a youth movement working to unleash the power of young people to create a more fair, just, and equal society. They are on a mission to create a new generation of social-change leaders, supporting them to tackle the biggest challenges of the 21st century - from gender equality to mental health. They envision a society in which young people are active citizens, meaningfully participating in their communities, and effectively challenging systemic injustice and inequality to create a better tomorrow.

There are a range of different opportunities, including market research, fundraising research and impact evaluation design, development and analysis.

Time: 6 hours per week +

Overview of the Role & Team

The position is key in contributing to the development of the organisation’s knowledge database, which is essential for all areas of the organisation to function effectively. This includes playing an important role in working within the Research Team to research important issues being faced across the world; the NGOs helping to address them and how people can support those organisations. This role will also provide the opportunity to undertake other areas of research that are relevant to the organisation while providing reports on the findings.

Researching NGOs from across the world.
Developing profiles of individual NGOs related to specific causes.
Researching innovative practices in the NGO sector.
Researching important issues being faced around the world.
Finding and checking information.
Researching and writing content for websites and social media.

Good organisational and administrative skills.
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Creativity and initiative.
Multi-tasking ability and a flexible approach to work.
The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
