We are in the Fintech space and use technology and bleeding-edge data capability to provide elegant and customer-focused insurance products for small businesses.

*The role*

* You will be embedded into a small multi-disciplinary project team collaborating closely with business stakeholders and other Engineers in the team to build customer-focused products with a Lean/Agile approach
* Liaising closely with the Product Owners and helping to clarify requirements at the onset of projects and working with the team around different technical approaches
* Assisting in breaking down complex business features (Epics) into smaller stories
* Being hands on with code using best practices
* Being pro-active and suggesting new ways of working, new tools & technologies – anything which you think will help drive the team forward!
* Getting up to speed with our Agile processes and then championing them across the team and ensuring the focus is always on the customer when developing products

*Our tech stack - experience with this stack is not essential*

Ruby, Rails, Python, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, AWS, Spark, Docker, Kafka, Ansible Cucumber, RSpec, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Redux & others. *You do not need to be experienced in this tech stack to apply (read the below section)*

* Strong programming skills - in any language. We are technology agnostic when hiring. We have hired people from Java, PHP, C# and Ruby backgrounds in the past. We are looking for strong programmers who are excited to work with our tech stack (you don't need to have prior experience of Ruby or our stack)
* Huge passion for technology
* Strong communication and collaborative skills
* An advocate of engineering best practices
* A strong desire to work with business teams and to understand the business side of our product development (we see tech and business as one team here - all working together to reach the same goal of creating awesome products to serve our customers best)
