Role: Windows Systems Support Specialist Senior Job Type: Contract Location: Rome, Italy Rate: Euros 140/day Job Description: Assist in planning the clients corporate service infrastructure including Active Directory and Microsoft Windows server infrastructure components such as DNS, ADFS, Radius, IIS, SharePoint and Office 365; Define, install, configure, tune physical and/or virtual servers (VMWare and/or Hyper-V) in the client’s data centres located worldwide following client’s security and installation policies and standards; Develop system upgrade procedures and ensure software patches, security and operating system updates are correctly deployed on all servers, both in HQ and in Decentralized Offices; Resolve server hardware and/or software problems for servers located worldwide; Provide support to clients Active Directory forest by managing users, security groups, printers and OUs as required; Provide assistance to migration to cloud (Amazon and Microsoft) Work with HQ and decentralized office IT support teams to identify solutions to third level technical/design issues relating to Active Directory and/or server issues; Ensure regular monitoring of servers and corporate infrastructure services; Assist in the rollout of the SIMPANA backup solution and ensure server backup operations successfully executed both in HQ and in decentralized offices; Assist in capacity planning for servers, disk space and associated backup devices; Investigate and provide technical evaluations for proposals for the acquisition of hardware, software and new technologies; Configure, customize and deploy software as requested and in line with existing clients policies and procedures; Expected outputs: All support calls effectively logged in the client’s service desk system (LANDesk Service Desk); All support calls are responded to in a professional manner and to agreed service levels; All new corporate infrastructure services and server deployments are delivered to clients and information security standards and in a professional manner.
