Do you have experience as a youth worker, sports coach, are you ex-army or into music production, have previous experience in youth offending or as a behaviour mentor in alternative education?? Do you want to work in an Alternative Provision within the Pastoral Team as a Student Journey Lead? Can you provide very good referencing to support your application as a Behaviour Mentor / Student Journey Lead to ensure we recruit the very best people for these roles possible? This role would be suitable for someone with a good counselling skills. Qualification in counselling would be a bonus for this role. ***Outstanding Behaviour Mentor / Student Journey Lead Needed!!! ***Based in East London - Tower Hamlets - After October half-term ***Great role working within the Pastoral Team A Behaviour Mentor / Student Journey Lead works on a full-time basis supporting student's behaviour and learning inside and outside of the class, this is primarily a class based position however it's very likely you will end up doing 1:1 withdrawal sessions at some stage in order to maintain the progress of student's behaviour and learning. The Behaviour Mentor / Student Journey Lead will work with children on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups, acting as a: - Listener; - Facilitator for learning; - Encourager; - Motivator; - Role model. Behaviour mentors work with pupils and students who need help to overcome difficulties that are getting in the way of their learning. Behaviour Mentor / Student Journey Lead work in schools or colleges, supporting young people of all abilities with issues such as: - Lack of self-confidence, self-esteem or motivation - failure to achieve their full potential - behavioural or emotional difficulties - troubles with relationships, bullying, social skills - personal crises such as bereavement or problems at home - difficulty settling into school or college - poor attendance The role of a Behaviour Mentor / Student Journey Lead is to work with provision or school staff and other agencies to provide support to students who need help overcoming barriers to learning, where behaviour and attendance issues are a cause for concern. The intention is to bring about sustained change with individual pupils, to improve of their behaviour and attendance.
