The Company: They a leader in the design and manufacture of electrified powertrain and advanced thermal management systems for heavy-duty and high-performance electric (EV) and hybrid vehicles (HEV) and in reducing vehicle emissions. Working as part of the engineering team you will be responsible development of manufacturing processes and maintenance of their electronic and electro mechanical assembly capability to the high standards that their internal and external customers demand. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role in an automotive OEM, Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier Candidate Required: HNC / BEng (Hons) in Electrical, Mechanical or Production Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years’ relevant professional experience Essential skills and experience: Experience in Electro Mechanical assembly. Experience of NPI (New Product Introduction) – Knowledge in Design for Manufacture / Automation. Ability to drive process improvements by applying best practice manufacturing techniques. Plant layout and process flow. Working to deadlines and Business KPI objectives. Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal). Computer literacy specifically with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project. Desirable skills and experience: Experience in similar roles in an automotive OEM or supplier. Ability to write equipment specification to achieve customer requirements. Procurement, Installation and commissioning of new production lines and equipment. Carrying out risk assessments to processes. COSHH etc. Control project budgets. Support the maintenance TPM initiative, (Constantly looking to improve equipment performance and availability to achieve OEE targets). CAD proficient – Preferably in AutoCAD Inventor. Fixture / Tooling / Gauging design and manufacturing. Knowledge of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC & PUWER98. PLC programming. Work process analysis / Process Mapping / Man Machine Interactions / Line Balancing / VSM. Familiar with international and quality standards such as: ISO9001 / TS1694. Design FMEA / Process FMEA / Process Flow Diagrams / Control Plans / MSA / Contribute to preparation of PPAP submissions. Control Documents including work instructions, BOMs and routings are available and accurate. 8D Investigations and reporting. Customer Interface. Personal attributes: Excellent communication skills and able to deal with all levels of the organisation. Leader in workplace health and safety. Must be able to work alone with minimum guidance, but also be able to operate effectively as part of a team. Organised with good problem-solving skills. Root Cause analysis.
