Marketing Assistant / Executive 21 to 24.5 hours per week (to be agreed) Circa £10,800 to £17,150 per annum (£18,000 to £24,500 FTE) Stevenage, Hertfordshire The IET is seeking a Marketing Assistant / Executive to join the Marketing Team! The IET is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with over 168,000 members in 150 countries. The IET is working to engineer a better world by inspiring, informing and influencing our members, engineers and technicians, and all those who are touched by, or touch, the work of engineers. As a Marketing Executive you will support the marketing team in maximising revenue, customer engagement and awareness of the IET’s products and services. The successful candidate will have experience of marketing activities, both digital and direct, with copywriting and proofreading skills. You will demonstrate attention to detail, be highly organised and be able to carry out your duties with confidence. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. First class written and verbal communication skills are a must! Main Duties and Responsibilities (summary) Support the wider marketing team with the delivery of elements of defined campaigns, on and off line utilising the full marketing mix, including online and offline channels. Produce and launch email marketing campaigns to support relevant team’s marketing objectives. Work with Marketing Campaign Manager’s to support the design, collation, production and mailing of key collateral, including writing of materials as required. Briefing/liaising with designers, printers and other external suppliers. Attend exhibitions and assist with manning the IET stand at various shows and conferences when required. To track budget spend and ROI. Person Specification Essential Demonstrable marketing experience, preferably gained in an academic or business publishing environment with experience of digital and direct marketing The ideal candidate must be highly organised, motivated and confident. You will also have proven ability to work accurately and quickly without supervision; to prioritise and manage a challenging workload and to work on your own initiative Creative flair, attention to detail, with excellent copywriting and proofreading skills Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills First class written and verbal communication skills Educated to degree level, or equivalent Willingness to undertake occasional travel Demonstrate the IET values of integrity, excellence and teamwork Desirable Experience of working in a not for profit as well as Commercial organisation The IET is an equal opportunity employer.
